"When you start working everybody is in your studio – the past, your friends, enemies, the art world, and above all, your own ideas – all are there. But as you continue painting, they start leaving, one by one, and you are left completely alone. Then, if you are lucky, even you leave." ~John Cage

January 14th Meeting
Join RMCS for our annual workday at Gayle Gerson's House:
Saturday afternoon, January 14th from 1 - 4.
This year we will do "All the Same Stuff" packets. Please bring
your matte medium (or another adhesive of choice), scissors and
brushes and a $4.00 fee for the 4x4 inch cradled board that will be
provided to you to collage upon.
Also bring a lunchable munchable to share with the group
(something easy to eat while working.) Drinks will be provided
(water, soda, coffee, tea.)
It is absolutely MANDATORY to RSVP to Gayle at 241-8561 or
galstarr@bresnan.net so she will know how many places to set
and packets to prepare. Please RSVP by January 7th.
(We hope to be able to make groupings of our work on the 4"x4" cradled
boards to display at our member's show in September.)
Tom Calenberg plans to demonstrate a painting technique using paints of differing viscosities
that lends itself very well to collage work at the January 14th meeting. If members want to
try out this technique after the demonstration, He asks each artist to bring two clean 2" nylon
brushes, scrap matboard, a water container to rinse out the brushes between applications and a
roll of paper towel or paint rags.
