“I enjoy the process of collage – the breaking down of images into basic forms and then building them back up in a different ways. The journey is my play. The different materials almost seem to talk to each other and come together to tell their story. I’m just there when that happens.” | Cathey Pabst was born in Roswell, New Mexico and studied
art in college. But she didn’t actually start developing
her career in fine arts until 1991. Her focus has been
working with gourds, pastels, fiber arts and collage.
She has spent a lifetime of collecting “treasures” that
she incorporates into her art. Cathey is a member of the National Collage Society and was juried into their 2008 national show. She also a member of the Rocky Mountain Collage Society, taking Third Place in their 2008 Show. Cathey's gorgeous website... http://www.gourdeous.com/ |
